Second round gave opponent
Mike Bell lane choice but that didn’t stop
Morton from picking up another round win on
another holeshot running 6.647 at 209.65 mph.
The weather was a
factor all weekend in Virginia completely
raining out all of Saturday’s activities
leaving drivers to use their data from their
two qualifying rounds on Friday. Sunday
brought an interval of rain in the afternoon
that made semi and final rounds run at 5:30pm
and 8:30pm respectively with heavy dew in the
air.
In the semis Morton
didn’t let the elements touch his winning
streak as he beats veteran driver Charlie
Peppers on yet another holeshot running 6.708
at 199.88 mph putting Morton in the finals
with Carl Baker. These two top competitors
gave the crowd an impressive race with Baker
taking the win light at the top end.
"It felt good to be on
my game again and look forward to good things
to happen at the next race. This was an
awesome weekend for us. It felt good to be in
the finals and we are looking forward to us
taking the win light in the finals at the next
time. What a great weekend" said Morton.
