MORTON CAMP UNDERGOING CHANGES FOR 2005
(NEW ENGINE BUILDER, NHRA ESCORT & DYNO SHOP)
JACKSONVILLE, NC - The Morton Motorsports Pro Stock racing team will be undergoing three major changes this upcoming 2005 season. Number one will be the new engine program headed up by Mike Allen of Allen Competition Engines based out of Surgoinsville, TN. Allen will be working exclusively with Morton's team in a joint effort between Elijah and crew chief Gary Henry hopefully putting together a combination to seize the 2005 IHRA Pro Stock Hooters Series World Championship. Henry
has had an ongoing seven year relationship with the new builder. Allen who once was teased with the idea of getting his engines involved in this magnitude of competition now has another chance with the help of Morton and Henry alike. The beautiful, award winning "Rising Storm" Mustang will begin the season with an updated engine soon to be followed by a brand new 815 cu. in. mountain motor from Allen's shop. This will be the only IHRA team venturing out with one of Allen's engines. Mike says he is very excited about this deal with Morton and Henry, he eats, sleeps and breaths horsepower; soon to be tested on race day.

The second change will be the addition of the all new 2005 Ford Escort that will campaign on a limited schedule within the NHRA Powerade Pro Stock circuit so long as the NHRA race does not conflict with one of the IHRA races. Elijah
Morton will also be behind the wheel with the help of Allen Competition Engines and of course Gary Henry calling the tuning shots. Team Morton Motorsports will debut the "new ride" at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, TN this upcoming season. The new Escort will also serve as a back-up for the IHRA events if ever needed.

The third change is the addition of a new DTS Dyno shop that will reside at Allen's shop in Tennessee.

All three members of the alliance are set on the 2005 IHRA Pro Stock World Championship. Morton has been recently accused of committing Pro Stock suicide stepping out "of the norm" like this. Morton is quick to say he feels confident that they will be a strong contender for the championship despite the change of horsepower provider. Morton and Henry both want to thank Kasse for the help over the past few years. This move yields nothing in the realm of being upset with Kasse's engine program, they simply feel the need to be independent at this time chasing the championship. The Rising Storm has just struck!
